SDQ’s Danish founder was instrumental in introducing exclusive Danish Designed AV equipment as well as leading edge Danish mobile technology into South and Southern Africa. Based in Bryanston for over thirty years SDQ are regarded as a stalwart of the local business landscape. SDQ’s roots are firmly established within the Audio Video and SMART Home Automation market places. Over the last thirty years SDQ have and continue to develop such iconic Danish brands as B&O, DALI A/S, CONSON and Jacob Jensen within the Southern African market place. SDQ’s experience within the local market has allowed these top Danish brands to rely heavily on SDQ’s advice and guidance within the local market. These partnerships have been instrumental in the subsequent success these brands have achieved within the local markets.
As has been the trend within the AV industry SDQ expanded their product offering to include SMART Building Automation And Management Systems (BAMS). SDQ’s partnership with leading International brands like Siemens (Clipsal), ABB, Busch Jaeger and HDL have allowed us to develop an unequalled product portfolio. Whilst initially focused on the residential market, SDQ provide solutions that enjoy wide spread acceptance and implementation within the commercial and hospitality markets places.
In the early 2000’s SDQ identified the signs of an impending power crisis that was about to hit South Africa. In order to continue to supply solutions which our clients could rely on, SDQ decided to expand their product portfolio to include both solar and wind turbine power generation solutions. By partnering with leading Scandinavian renewable energy specialists and South Africa’s leading EPC’s we at SDQ are now regarded as a leading authority and solution provider for both Solar and Wind Turbine power generation systems.
As with the power crisis SDQ identified a looming water crisis for which we firmly believed a solution was urgently required. To this end SDQ developed their Home Spring domestic and commercial water filtration and purification system. The Home Spring allows the home and business owner to monitor the quality of the water being used throughout the home and office. The Home Spring provides both the home and business owner the means to guarantee that the water being consumed, is thoroughly treated and in so doing provide spring quality water at every tap.
The last three decades have been an adventure filled with highs and some inevitable lows but the journey has always remained an adventure which is looked back on with fondness. SDQ look forward, with the new guard, to another twenty nine years filled with laughs and of course a few tears. SDQ remain focused on the future whilst never forgetting the history which has forged the core values that have made SDQ the success it is today.

The same analogy can be used for manual garage doors. Some of us can remember when garage doors were manually opened and closed. Did we need a remote control in order to open and close the door – No but in the rain a remote control made the experience a lot less uncomfortable – at least for the kids that is.
